For a long time I didn’t know where this need for creating things came from. Until I heard something from my brother. He mentioned, that he admires how immersed I get into topics. I never saw that as a compliment because I’ve been mostly called “obsessed” with my interests. I only realized later, after I got obsessed with obsession, that this is also one of my skills.

It’s interesting how people often view obsession as something negative, but many great artists have referred to themselves as obsessed. Take Claude Monet, for example, who classified his love for colours as an obsession.

So ever so often, I, too, find something new to fixate on. It could be as simple as a new book series or as peculiar as the etiquette rules of the Renaissance.

You see, now I aspire to be obsessed. I want to feel deeply and get lost in topics. It’s what fuels my creative thinking, allows me to see things from different perspectives, and often leads to unique insights that others might not have considered.

So, let’s embrace the power of obsession.
